How do you win a Yankee bet?
To make a profit on a Yankee bet, you need to correctly pick at least 2 of your 4 selections. The more selections you get right, the higher your winnings will be, as more combinations within the system are activated: if you only get 2 selections right, you win only the Double combination corresponding to those two selections, while if you get all 4 right, you win all possible combinations (the 6 Doubles, the 4 Trebles, and the Four-fold).
How is the amount of a Yankee bet calculated?
Your total amount is divided equally among the 11 combinations. For example, if you bet $5,500 in total, you will be betting $500 on each of the 11 combinations ($500 × 11 = $5,500).
To calculate your winnings, multiply the value of each individual bet ($500 in this example) by the combined odds of each winning combination, and sum the results of all the winning combinations.
