eSports (electronic sports) are professional video game competitions where players or teams compete against each other. On Betano, you can bet on the most popular tournaments worldwide, such as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO), League of Legends (LoL), and Dota 2. If you are not yet familiar with their rules or vocabulary, below we explain how each one works and their main markets.
How does Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) work?
Each CS:GO match features 10 players, divided into 5 Terrorists and 5 Counter-Terrorists. The Terrorists must plant the bomb or eliminate the opposing team; the Counter-Terrorists must prevent the bomb from exploding or eliminate the other team.
Each map has 30 rounds, and the first team to win 16 rounds wins the map. If the score is tied 15-15, overtime is played until there is a winner.
The main markets in CS:GO include:
- Match winner (best of 3 or 5 maps).
- Map winner.
- Total maps.
- Pistol round winner (first and sixteenth round of each map).
How does League of Legends (LoL) work?
Each League of Legends match features 10 players, 5 per team, distributed in the roles Top, Mid, Bottom, Jungle, and Support. The objective is to destroy the opposing team's base (Nexus) on the Summoner's Rift map.
During the match, teams fight for objectives such as elemental dragons, the Rift Herald, and Baron Nashor, which grant temporary advantages to the team that defeats them.
The main markets in League of Legends include:
- Match winner (best of 3 or 5 maps).
- Map winner.
- Total maps played.
How does Dota 2 work?
Each Dota 2 match features 10 players, 5 per team, distributed in the roles Carry, Mid, Offlane, Support, and Hard Support. The objective is to destroy the enemy team's Ancient building before they destroy your own.
Teams compete to gain advantages by eliminating enemies, securing strategic objectives, and defeating the boss Roshan, who drops key items for victory.
The main markets in Dota 2 include:
- Match winner (best of 3 or 5 maps).
- Map winner.
- Total maps played.
