Glossary – Sports Betting

A single bet lets you select a particular market or event and place your wager on it. Your potential winnings are calculated simply, based on your stake and the odds at the time you place the bet.

If your prediction is correct, you'll receive winnings according to the odds and the amount you staked.

A parlay bet allows you to combine multiple selections into a single wager. For a parlay to win, all selected outcomes must be correct.

The potential payout is calculated by multiplying the odds of each selection by your stake. Because of its cumulative nature, parlays offer higher payouts compared to single bets. However, if any selection is incorrect, the entire bet is lost.

Like parlays, Bet Builder bets involve combining three or more selections. However, the key difference is that Bet Builder bets can still win even if not all of your selections are correct, depending on the system type chosen.

When placing a system bet, you can choose a specific system, such as "Yankee" or others, directly on your betslip. This system determines how your selections are grouped into different combinations.

As a result, even if some of your selections fail, you may still win part of your bet based on the number of correct picks.

At Betano, a settlement resolves a bet by determining whether it's a win or a loss.

For sports betting, settlement occurs once the event concludes and the official result is known. Winnings are credited if you win, while your stake is deducted if you lose.

For casino games, settlement occurs at the end of each round, with winnings added or losses deducted. Note that your balance may not update immediately, but an in-game balance will be available.

A void bet is one that Kaizen declares to have no effect in determining a winning or losing outcome. When this happens, the staked amount is refunded and, in the case of parlay or system bets, that selection is calculated at neutral odds of 1.00, without affecting the rest of your selections.

This can occur, for example, when:

• A selected player or team does not take part in the event.
• The event is postponed, suspended, or not played on the originally scheduled day.
• An evident error in the odds, line, or handicap is identified before the start of the event.
• The original conditions of the event change, such as the venue, format, or duration.
• It is not possible to officially validate the result of a market.

A bet on the home win, draw, or away win.

Settlement Rules: Valid only for the regular 90 minutes of play, including injury/stoppage time added by the referee. Extra time, overtime, and penalty shootouts are excluded unless explicitly specified in the market name.

All football/soccer bets are settled based on the score at the end of regular time (90 minutes + stoppage time), unless the market name explicitly mentions "Extra Time" or "Penalty Shootout".

Any clear goal attempt that goes into the net or would have gone in if not saved by the goalkeeper or stopped by the last defender.

Data Provider: All shot and attempt stats are determined and settled according to official OPTA statistics.

Bets on total or specific yellow and red cards shown during the match.

Settlement Rules: Cards shown to non-active personnel on the pitch, including coaching staff, substitute players on the bench, or players already substituted out, as well as cards shown after the final whistle, do not count toward settlement.

Settlement Source: Settled using the official tournament/league match report.

Total number of corner kicks taken during regular time.

Settlement Rules: Only corners that are actually taken count. A corner awarded but not taken before the final whistle will not be included.

A three-outcome market (Home, Draw, Away) in which one team is given a whole-goal or whole-point advantage or disadvantage before the start of the event.

A two-outcome market that removes the draw as a possible betting outcome. It may include whole, half (0.5), or quarter (0.25, 0.75) lines, allowing for a full or partial refund of the stake depending on the result.

A feature that allows users to settle their bet before the event has finished.

Settlement Rules: The payout amount accepted through Cash Out is final and non-negotiable, regardless of any subsequent events in the match.
